Day 1
|
Entebbe, Uganda:
Arrive Entebbe where you will be met and transferred to the 4-star Lake Victoria hotel, a completely renovated colonial style hotel with beautiful gardens and a swimming pool. Meals are served inside or on the terraces overlooking Lake Victoria. Welcome Dinner. Overnight. D |

Day 2
|
Entebbe / Kable Town: (7 hour drive including stops)
Buffet breakfast, followed by your drive to Kabale town. The route through the Lake Victoria basin passes large papyrus swamps and rainforest. We pass Masaka and head into the rolling hills and scrubland that are home to the Ankole cattle known for their very impressive rack of horns. Lunch at a small hotel restaurant in Mbarara. Then continue through one of the country's agricultural areas; Here they gorwn bananas, tea, coffee and all manner of fruits and vegetables. Kabale is the highest town in Uganda and is set in the hills of this very fertile region. You will stop enroute to visit drum makers, the Equator and for birding as time allows. Arrive at the Inn - an old colonial hotel located at on a hill above Kabale town and offering views of the surroundings agricultural countryside. A single level main building with restaurant and bar with an open fire for cool evenings. The rooms are chalet type with en suite bathrooms. Dinner and overnight. BB, L, D |

Day 3
|
Kable Town / Bwindi National Park: (3.5 hours drive)
After breakfast you will drive into region known as "the Switzerland of East Africa". The road is one of the most scenic in Africa passing through deep valleys and over high passes - photographers paradise. Arrive at Bwindi National Park, for lunch and spend the next two nights here. The camp is 4 star - true luxury in the rain forest. Each room has two queen-sized beds and all the furnishings for comfort with en suite bathrooms and hot/ cold running water. This afternoon we will be visiting a local school, bird watching and visiting with local people. Return to Camp. Dinner and overnight. BB, L, D |

Day 4
|
Bwindi National Park: (Gorilla Trekking)
After breakfast, meet with the local guides and trackers who will give a talk on the etiquette of Gorilla trekking and viewing. Hike into the forest to where the Gorillas were seen the previous day, then begin tracking with your expert guide/tracker. The trek can be from one to seven hours, including one hour with the Gorillas. The hike can be physically demanding at times but it is through a very beautiful tropical forest. Once the Gorillas are located all fatigue is forgotten. The experience is often described as being the most profound natural history experience in the world!. Dinner & overnight. BB, L, D |

Day 5
|
Bwindi / Queen ELizabeth National Park: (5 hour drive)
After breakfast, drive to Queen Elizabeth National Park in the western corridor of the Great African Rift Valley. Game drive in the Ishasha region in search of the tree climbing lions and through the Mweya region for otyer game drive. A picnic lunch will be provided today at a scenic location. Arrive the lodge for dinner and overnight. BB, L, D |

Day 6
|
Queen Elizabeth National Park:
After breakfast, drive to the Kasinga Channel for your two-hour boat trip, seeing many Hippo (the largest population in Africa, in excess of 30,000) and excellent birding. After your boat trip, you board your landcruiser for a game drive in the Park to see: Elephants, Lion, Leopard, Giant Forest Hog and a variety of Antalope. Then drive to Maramagambo Forest, still within the park, and take a walk in the forest to the bat caves where you will see thousands of Egyptian Fruit Bats. Overnight. BB, L, D

Day 7
|
Queen Elizabeth National Park / Kibale Forest: (3 hours drive)
After breakfast, drive north along the eastern side of the Rwenzori Mountains (Mountains of the Moon) to Fort Portal and Kibale Forest. Afternoon forest walk in search of Chimps and other primates in this beautiful tropical rain forest. Arrive at the lodge situated on a high saddle between two crater lakes. The rooms are decorated in local crafts and materials, and feature high ceilings and four posters beds with mosquito netting. The en suite baths have hot & cold running water and flush toilets. There is no electricity at the lodge, but ample candle and oil lamps are provided in the evening, creating a romantic feel of old Africa. Dinner & overnight. BB, L, D |

Day 8
|
Kibale Forest / Murchison Falls National Park: (8 hours drive)
After breakfast head north to Murchison Forest National Park passing through varied scenery and several villages on the eastern edge of the rift valley with magnificent views of Lake Albert and Congo on the far shores of the lake. Arrive at the Camp and checkout the romantic river view rooms. A comfortable camp/lodge with swimming pool, restaurant and bar all overlooking the Nile. Dinner and overnight. BB, L, D |

Day 9
|
Murchison Falls:
After breakfast visit the base of Murchison Falls by boat. Located, on the Nile, the water at these falls is said to be the most powerful natural water energy source in the world. Here, the whole Nile River is forced through a 21-foot gap in the rocks producing what appears to be a boiling cauldron as the water drops 145 feet. Drive to the top of the Falls to view this magnificent spectacle from above then continue on a short game drive. Return to our camp. Dinner & overnight. BB, L, D |

Day 10
|
Murchison Falls / Entebbe: (6 hour drive to Entebbe)
After breakfast, return to Entebbe via Masindi. Arrive Lake Victoria Hotel to refresh, shower, and change clothes for your Farewell dinner and "Good bye" to Uganda! After dinner you will be transferred to Entebbe airport for your departure flight. BB |
